The article is an attempt of showing the process of lying from the perspective of transactional analysis. Lying is understood here as an interpersonal process, which involves a liar and his vic- tim. What is important is the fact that the victim cooperates with a liar. A false vision of reality shown by the liar at some point becomes a vision of the victim. This is damaging for their current relationship, and also disrupts the functioning of the Adult ego-state. Transactional analysis can describe and explain the harm of false relational processes without focusing on the moral side of the issue.
