Abstract

The article presents profiles of 11 notable coaches, who graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań (AWF): Michał Brzuchalski, Janusz Czerwiński, Marian Drażdżewski, Krzysztof Kisiel, Paweł Kowalski, Tomasz Andrzej Kryk, Sławomir Nowak, Czesław Szulc, Werner Urbański, Marcin Witkowski and Aleksander Wojciechowski. The knowledge gained during the study of the theory of sports training and preparation for participation in sports competitions allowed them to train successfully many representatives of Poland and other countries at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships and other events of high rank. Among those athletes there are representatives of athletics, swimming, sailing, canoeing, rowing and handball.
