Privacy Statement

I. Information on Personal Data Processing in University Services

  1. Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa respects and upholds the right of users visiting services within the ujd.edu.pl domain and social media platforms to privacy and personal data protection. Therefore, personal data collected by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa through websites are processed in accordance with the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), hereafter referred to as GDPR, and the Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018.

  3. If any data considered personal data are collected while using our services, we adhere to the principles set out by the GDPR and other regulations. Specifically, we ensure that:

    • processing is lawful, fair, and transparent, and data collection is for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes;

    • only necessary and accurate data are collected and only for as long as necessary;

    • personal data processing is secure, based on a risk assessment;

    • if necessary, we must demonstrate compliance with these standards to the supervisory authority.

  4. Your data may only be disclosed to authorized persons, verified entities with whom we have relevant agreements, and entities entitled to obtain them under applicable law.

  5. We ensure that each person acting under the University’s authorization and having access to personal data processes it solely on the University's instructions.

  6. The University makes every effort to ensure that your rights related to personal data processing are properly fulfilled. In particular, we ensure that:

    • communication is clear and transparent;

    • proper information and access to personal data are provided;

    • requests to which you have a right, including rectification and erasure of data as well as the right to object to data processing, are fulfilled.

  7. We make every effort to properly fulfill other obligations provided for in the GDPR and other data protection regulations; nevertheless, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

  8. During university-wide celebrations, press conferences, and other scientific-educational events, the University conducts live-streams, photo sessions, and video recordings for dissemination in various promotional and informational forms through the University’s website, university social media, and promotional materials, thereby involving the dissemination of the images of participants in these events. Participation in such meetings and ceremonies implies consent by the participant for the processing of their image for the aforementioned purposes. Please note that:

    a) the data controller (in the form of images) in these reports is Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Waszyngtona 4/8, 42-217 Czestochowa;

    c) this data is processed for informational and promotional purposes with the consent of the person concerned (participation in the event is equivalent to giving this consent),

    d) this data is disseminated on the University's websites for no longer than 4 years or until the consent by the data subject is withdrawn; consent can be revoked by sending an email to biuropromocji@ujd.edu.pl

    e) the data subject has the right to access their data, delete, restrict processing, transfer data, withdraw consent at any time without affecting the legality of the processing that was carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal;

    f) has the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, should they believe that the processing of personal data concerning them violates the regulations of the General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016;

    g) their data will not be processed in an automated manner, including profiling.

II. Information on Cookies in University Services

  1. During visits to our site, cookie files may be saved which include, among others: the user's IP number, user's Internet provider, how the user navigates our site (e.g., which tabs are opened), and the name of the browser used.

  2. The ujd.edu.pl service does not automatically collect any information, except for information contained in cookies (more about cookies: https://wszystkoociasteczkach.pl/)

  3. Cookies are used for the following purposes:

    Services in the ujd.edu.pl domain: a) adapting the content of the website pages to the user's preferences and optimizing the use of websites, b) creating statistics that help understand how service users use the websites, which allows improving their structure and content, c) maintaining the user's session on the website, d) cart management (shop wydawnictwo.ujd.edu.pl)

  4. Cookies appropriate within the ujd.edu.pl service:

    a) "session" cookies - temporary files that are stored on the user's end device until logging out, leaving the website, or turning off the software, b) "persistent" cookies - stored on the user's end device for the time specified in the cookie parameters or until they are deleted by the user.

  5. By using the site, the user consents to the use of cookies according to the settings of their web browser. If the user does not consent, they have the option to configure their browser and block cookies. More information can be found in the "help" section of the internet browser menu:

In each browser, settings need to be configured separately.

  1. Changes to the settings in the user's internet browser may affect the correct functioning of websites.

  2. Only authorized employees and collaborators of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa who process data in connection with the tasks performed will have access to your personal data. Recipients may also include entities to whom the administrator has commissioned specific tasks involving the necessity of processing personal data. In order to ensure the protection of personal data, an agreement for the entrusting of personal data processing has been signed with these recipients.

  3. Users' personal data will be processed for the period necessary to achieve the purposes defined in this Privacy Policy.

  4. Within the services located in the ujd.edu.pl domain, plugins, buttons, or other tools enabling the sharing of content on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Maps maps, YouTube videos are used. Visiting these portals means transmitting information about the user. Additionally, this information may be shared by these portals with their partners. Using social plugins like the "Like" button means transferring personal data such as the user's IP address or browser identifier to Facebook, which may further transfer this data to its partners.

  5. Your personal data obtained through the fan page: facebook.com/ujd_czestochowa, are processed for purposes arising from legally justified interests of the Administrator. These are the following purposes:

a) indicated above, related to the use of cookies (more: https://www.facebook.com/policies/cookies/) b) marketing and statistical purposes, including within the functions of Facebook such as "Like," sharing, or commenting on posts c) responses to user inquiries.

  1. Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa is not responsible for the privacy policies of external entities, including services to which it posts links. Users should familiarize themselves with the rules applicable to these entities.

  2. The user has the following rights arising from the rules defined by the GDPR:

  • access to data and receiving their copies;
  • rectification (correction) of their personal data;
  • restriction of processing of personal data;
  • deletion of personal data (subject to Article 17(3) of the GDPR);
  • to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office if the user believes that the processing of personal data concerning them violates the law on personal data protection.
