The journal co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science within the programme "Rozwój czasopism naukowych" [Development of scientific journals]. Contract no. RCN/SP/0050/2021/1 of 19 December 2022. Project duration: 1 December 2022 - 30 November 2024. The amount of co-financing is 44 000,00 PLN.

The main objective of the project was to enhance the editorial practices of the journal Sport and Tourism Central European Journal, particularly in terms of internationalizing its publishing profile. The undertaken activities included systematically increasing the number of articles published in English, expanding indexing in international databases, implementing publication ethics standards in accordance with COPE guidelines, developing the technical infrastructure (including the iThenticate plagiarism detection system and ORCID identifiers), as well as intensifying international collaboration by increasing the participation of foreign reviewers and members of the editorial board.
