Happiness and hope in the consciousness of the young generation - analysis of perception and experience

The article presents the opinions of pedagogy students about hope, symbols of happiness and personal values. It includes a theoretical part that describes the characteristics of the generation of people born after 1995 and outlines the concepts of hope and happiness. The empirical part describes the results of surveys diagnosing the level of basic hope and the symbols and values ​​identified by young people with full and lasting satisfaction with life. The study used the BHI-12 Basic Hope Questionnaire and the Personal Values ​​List.

The results allow us to conclude that the level of basic hope among the respondents remains at a good level. This makes it easier for them to find a way to respond to stress and trauma, shapes the speed and constructiveness of adaptation to a new social environment, and gives a greater chance for the effectiveness of educational and possible therapeutic interactions. Respondents indicate symbols of happiness and create a list of values ​​whose achievement predicts life satisfaction.

   Course of scientific career:
   - 2020-2025 membership in the research team of the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Silesia entitled Pedagogical axiology as an element of: social prevention, improving the quality of life of children, youth and adults in the educational environment and developing scientific theories,
   - 2020 membership in the research team of the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Silesia entitled Effectiveness of remote education during the pandemic in the Bytom district,
   - obtaining additional qualifications in the field of: management of an educational institution (2000), education and rehabilitation of people with intellectual disabilities (1990 qualification course, 2016 postgraduate studies), teaching mathematics in a reformed school (2002), diagnosis and pedagogical therapy (2013), behavioral therapy (2014), first and second degree hand therapy (2017), education and support for people with autism spectrum disorders (2017).
   - 2005 obtaining a doctoral degree in humanities at the Pedagogical University of KEN in Krakow,
   - 2003 obtaining the title of expert in professional advancement of teachers,
   - 2003 obtaining the title of MEN examiner for students with mild intellectual disabilities,
   - 1998, 1999, 2000 obtaining degrees of professional specialization in the field of rehabilitation of people with intellectual disabilities, successively I, II and III,
   - 1997-1999 acting as a methodological advisor for special education,
   - 1989 - obtaining the title of Master of Science in Pedagogy in the field of care and educational pedagogy at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Research interests:
   - organization of psychological and pedagogical assistance for children with special educational needs, disabled, neglected and at risk of social maladjustment,
   - pedagogical axiology as an element of: social prevention, improving the quality of life of children, youth and adults in the educational environment and development of scientific theories,
   - professional tasks of a school pedagogue,
   - history of education in Upper Silesia after 1945.

   Most important scientific achievements:
   - implementation of grants in cooperation with professional development institutions for teachers (RODN "WOM" and RODN "Metis", ODN "Elpax") from the series "Teacher Development in the Silesian Voivodeship" in 2007, 2008 and 2012.
   - implementation of the grant entitled "Comprehensive support for schools and kindergartens" in cooperation with RODN "Metis" in Katowice in 2014.
   - implementation of the grant "Education Employee - Take Advantage of New Opportunities" in cooperation with the Voivodeship Labor Office in Częstochowa in 2014.
   - diagnostic and descriptive studies on the profession of school pedagogue in selected voivodeships of southern Poland, conducted in 2017-2018,
   - cooperation with national universities and centers for professional development of teachers,
   - publication of 4 monographs, 22 articles in monographs and 27 articles in journals from the MN and SW lists,
   - obtaining the Bronze Cross of Merit of the President of the Republic of Poland.

   Scientific internships/Study visits:
   - internship in the field of directive therapies at the Behavioral Therapy Center in Gliwice,
   - study visit to the Behavioral Therapy Center in Krakow,
   - study visits to the State Archives in Katowice and the Archives of New Records in Warsaw.

   Member of scientific councils and editorial boards of scientific journals:
   - participation in the editorial team of the Internet Publishing House's e-book publication New Addictions - from dopalaczy to social networking sites,
   - membership in the scientific team of the Polish Pedagogical Society.
