The article is devoted to the problem of language vulgarization, which has significantly intensified in recent decades. The aim of the author was to observe linguistic expressions containing vul- garisms from the perspective of some TA conceptions. The gathered research material was in the form of 200 descriptions of everyday situations with vulgar words and phrases, which have been analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The primary aim has been to define the activity ofthe speakers’ ego states in relation to the functions of vulgarisms used, as well as their life positionsin the presented situations. Besides, the author has examined vulgarisms as transmitters of strokes and discounts. The analysis of the research results shows, on the one hand, a diverse character of vulgar expressions, and, on the other hand, their significance for interpersonal relations and for the speaker. The conclusions drawn from the analysis may stimulate further exploration of this research field from TA perspective.
