The Activity of the Canoe Section in the University Club of the Academic Sports Association University of Rzeszow (1993–2016)

Abstract

This paper concerns the canoe section in the University Club of the Academic Sports Association in University of Rzeszow in the years 1993–2016. The section has started it’s activity thanks to the initiative of teachers from (WSP) who organized canoing classes. After 2000, there was a very rapid development of the section, because of fussion with Youth Canoe Club (MKK) “Resowiak”. After that it was the only one professional club in Rzeszow, and the Universities canoeist won lots of medals in national and international competition. In 2003 the fusion finished. Since 2009, KU AZS UR has resumed its activities by promoting recreational canoeing among students.
