The Editorial Office of Edukacja Muzyczna (Musical Education) is committed to ensuring the high scholarly and editorial quality of the articles published in the journal, as well as their compliance with current standards of academic communication, principles of academic integrity, and good publishing practices.

Editorial decisions are based on the scholarly value of the manuscript, its originality, relevance to the journal’s profile, methodological soundness, clarity of argumentation, and compliance with formal and editorial requirements. Financial, commercial, institutional, or personal considerations have no influence on editorial decisions concerning the acceptance, referral for peer review, rejection, or publication of an article.

The Editorial Office evaluates submitted manuscripts impartially, regardless of the author’s origin, nationality, gender, religion, worldview, academic degree or title, length of professional experience, institutional affiliation, or professional position. The assessment is based exclusively on scholarly quality, the relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope, and compliance with the standards of scholarly publication.

The Editorial Office does not interfere with authors’ scholarly findings or with the research results presented in their manuscripts. Its role is to prepare the text for publication in accordance with the scholarly, linguistic, and editorial requirements adopted by the journal.

As part of the editorial process, the Editorial Office may propose revisions concerning, in particular, the structure of the text, clarity of argumentation, academic language and style, scholarly apparatus, footnotes, bibliography, and the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s editorial requirements.

The Editorial Office reserves the right to propose editorial, linguistic, stylistic, and technical revisions, as well as justified abridgements of the text, where such changes serve to improve the quality of the publication, increase the clarity of the argument, or adapt the article to the publishing standards adopted by the journal.

All proposed editorial revisions are intended to enhance the quality of the publication and to ensure consistency in the editorial preparation of articles published in the journal. Substantive changes are not introduced without the author’s knowledge and approval.

The Editorial Office may reject a manuscript without sending it for peer review if it determines that the text is not consistent with the journal’s profile, does not meet basic scholarly, formal, or ethical requirements, or does not comply with the publication standards adopted by the journal.

The Editorial Office maintains the confidentiality of the editorial and peer-review process. Information concerning a submitted manuscript is not disclosed to persons who are not involved in the publishing process. This applies in particular to authors’ data, the content of the article, reviewers’ reports, editorial decisions, and correspondence conducted during the editorial procedure.

Data, findings, interpretations, or analyses presented in a submitted manuscript may not be used by members of the Editorial Office, reviewers, or other persons involved in the publishing process in their own research without the author’s explicit consent.

If, after publication, the Editorial Office receives credible information indicating significant errors, irregularities, or breaches of publication ethics, it will take appropriate action in accordance with good publishing practices and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Depending on the nature of the case, this may include publishing a correction, corrigendum, editorial statement, or — in justified cases — retracting the article.

Submission of a manuscript to the Editorial Office constitutes acceptance of the rules governing the editorial process of Edukacja Muzyczna (Musical Education).
