NATO’s tasks and evolution in 2007–2020

Abstract

This article examines NATO’s mission and evolution from 2007 to 2020. The article explores each year to highlight the most important developments concerning NATO in the context of con-temporary events. The article begins by defining and defining NATO and its position. It then moves on to events at the end of the 20th century, and finally to the core of the article, the events that  occurred between 2007 and 2020. Putin’s powerful speech in Munich took place in 2007. Relations between NATO and Russia were changing, with Kremlin leaders evading many issues and failing to reveal the truth and true intentions. This was clearly demonstrated by events and Moscow’s decisions following specific incidents and verbal or military actions. Key for Russia were the actions taken in the former Soviet republics, and, of course, in Ukraine. It is also worth noting the actions of US presidents; their positions were not always consistent, particularly with President Donald Trump’s stance. This article prepares the reader to analyze and draw conclusions regarding Presi-dent Trump’s current term.
