Rules for Reviewing

The reviewing procedure for the journal Podstawy Edukacji is adapted to the latest guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Editorial Board of Podstawy Edukacji guided by formal assessment and its own substantive assessment, including the compliance of the article with the journal's profile, decides on the preliminary acceptance or rejection of the article.

The initial review process is supervised by thematic editors specializing in issues discussed in a given article and coordinated by the Chief Editor.

All texts sent to the Editorial Board of Podstawy Edukacji are reviewed by two reviewers based on the principle of double secrecy, i.e. reviewers and authors of texts in the review process remain anonymous to each other, do not know their identities (procedure of double-blind review process).

The article in a foreign language is directed by the Editorial Board to at least one reviewer affiliated to a foreign institution, but other than the one represented by the author.

Reviewers decide to classify the text for printing, taking into account, among others, the novelty and originality of the subject, the adequacy of the methodology used, topicality of the literature on the subject, contribution of the author(s) to the state of research of a given area.

Each review has a written form and must end with a clear request for allowing publication for printing, either allowing the publication after making corrections recommended by reviewers, or rejecting it [Polish form], [English form].

Reviews are sent to the author with a request to respond to them and follow the reviewer's recommendations. The text of the article returned by the author to the Editorial Board should take into account all comments of the reviewers.

In the case of a recommendation to re-review the text, the Editorial Board, after taking into account the author's comments and making corrections, directs the article to the same reviewer.

The list of reviewers cooperating with the Editorial Board is published on the journal's website.
