Abstract

The 4th International Conference of PhD Students and Young Researchers Faces of Guitar in Scientific Research organised by the Department of Music at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, took place on 17 April 2024. The event included an inaugural lecture by Prof. Marek Nosal, three thematic panels and a final concert. The conference featured ten speakers who presented a variety of topics on guitar music interpretation, repertoire transcription, music education and inspiration in guitar literature from the Baroque to the present day.

The event concluded with a concert at the Częstochowa Philharmonic as part of the University Evenings series, featuring renowned artists including Miłosz Mączyński, Marcin Kuźniar, Radosław Wieczorek and the Kupiński Guitar Duo. The performances included both classical and contemporary guitar compositions.

The conference in Częstochowa has confirmed its position as one of the most important Polish scientific events devoted to the guitar, providing a platform for young scientists to exchange knowledge and have creative discussions.
