The Bibliography of Polish Music Prints Involving the Guitar from the Years 1901–1939 by Wojciech Gurgul is an example of meticulous research and archival work, providing a basis for envisioning the role of the guitar in Polish musical life during the discussed period. Despite certain editorial shortcomings, this work is a highly valuable contribution to the study of the instrument's role in Poland’s musical culture of past centuries.
The publication includes indexes of composers, arrangers, lyricists, works categorized by instrumentation, as well as a library index. Additionally, a particularly valuable element of the study is the selection of musical notation examples. This book is of interest not only to music historians but also to contemporary guitar teachers and performers of classical guitar music.
