The Society for the Advancement of Public Schools (1933-1939)
Abstract
The demographic and economic boom of the 1930s led to the increase of material needs in the field of general education in Poland. That is why in 1933 the Society for the Advancement of Public Schools was established. Its purpose was to intensify the construction of public schools, equip them and provide them with the necessary teaching aids. The Society was involved in organizational, financial, propagandist and school building activities. The article analyzes the activities of the Society, which became an institution supporting the development of universal education in times of crisis.
