New media are possessing more and more of people’s attention, changing not only surrounding civilizational and cultural reality and man’s attitudes, but they are also trying to take over the educational function of school., which has always been meant to fulfil didactic and pedagogical tasks and has been a place of inheriting culture.
Comparisons of researches and cogitations of sociologists, anthropologists, psychologists, media scientists, educators and pedagogues indicate that traditional education, including early school education, is not keeping up with changes resulting from explosion of digitization, changes in needs and possibilities of a child, and is suggesting such a style of teaching which does not really correspond with current interests of a student, who is growing up in a pop cultural, technical and digitalized civilization of the spectacle. In such context I suggest the outline of analysis of existing pedagogical activism in comparison to the offer of pop cultural new media.
