Abstract

The Arctic is a strategic area where the interests of many actors in international relations converge. As a result, the importance of this region continues to grow. The increased interest in the area is the cause of many disputes. Currently, the rivalry in the sub-Arctic region is peaceful, but the geopolitical situation is dynamic and unpredictable. The author shows the disputes that are being conducted between Arctic states, and also discusses the areas of activity of the various players both from the so-called Arctic club and from outside the Arctic region. The article also addresses the future of the area. The author also attempted to provide a forecast of the development of rivalry in the Arctic.
