Pathologies of political leadership. Selected issues

Abstract

Political leadership is one of the most frequently described issues in contemporary political
science, and at the same time the least understood. Political leadership does not exist without
a human factor, a personality element – a leader. Leadership is exposed to certain defects – pathologies
that are the result of a features of human character. The aim of the article is to confirm
the thesis on the pathologies of political leadership. Later presented index of the pathological
leadership for example: chronical stress, stimulants, drugs and their consequences, tendency to
aggression, narcissm and political paranoia.
