Abstract

For the nation and the Polish state, which have experienced many tragedies, wars, uprisings
and occupations in the past centuries, ensuring sustainable security is not only a condition for survival,
but also an opportunity to make up for delays in relation to the level of civilisation of the
European community. Currently Poland is a safe country. None of our neighbours negates our
borders. Poland entered the 21st century in exceptional conditions. She has become a member of
the North Atlantic Alliance, which to a large extent guarantees its security. In the current legal
system, one of the authorities responsible for the proper implementation of the state security policy
is the Police. In turn, the sense of security is defined primarily in terms of physical security of
person and security of property. Feeling safe means, among other things, no fear of robbery, theft,
beatings. The role of the police in protecting internal security is special. Due to the nature of the
tasks assigned to the police officers, they are closest to the problems that affect the society.
