Abstract

Poland is a country located geographically specific. Despite the many threats in the past is now a safe country. Contemporary threats necessitate the continued development and operation. The presence of Polish NATO is not always favorably commented upon by Russia. The European Union helps to protect its international position. Poland is a bridge that can connect in the future, the Russian Federation with the European Union. Relations Polish – Russian are extremely complicated and difficult. History still determines the relationship and influence on foreign policy visions of the two countries. The personification of the current policy of Russia is Vladimir Putin, and immediately after Dmitry Medvedev, making it difficult to expect that a strong leader will perceive Russia as an equal partner in Poland. Hope for change is a process taking place between generations. Russia, despite a weaker position than the Soviet Union remains an important geostrategic player. NATO and the European Union should develop a common strategy of consistent impact on Russia.
