The Controversy about the Activity of Erika Steinbach

Abstract

Erika Steinbach is a German politician, a member of the Christian Democratic Union [the German Party CDU], the president of the Federation of Expellees in Germany. She is also an initiator of the project of the Berlin Centre Against Expulsions. In Poland, Erika Steinbach is believed to be one of the most unwanted figures of public life. Her behaviour, various statements and activity still up emotions and lead to Steinbach’s negative reputation in Poland. Thus,
Erika Steinbach is often the subject of discussions and polemics. The aim of this article is to show the activity of Erika Steinbach. Moreover, it is also the attempt to evaluate some of her controversial actions.
