The academic journal "Res Politicae," established in 2006 at the Department of Security Studies at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, is an annual journal whose research profile encompasses the social sciences (particularly political and administrative studies, and security studies) and the humanities (primarily history). The journal's scientific council is composed of representatives of independent research and teaching staff from the Department of Security Studies (Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa) as well as academics from Polish (including the Jagiellonian University, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, University of Wrocław, Rzeszów University of Technology, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce) and foreign academic and research centers (Institute and Museum of Military History - Budapest, Institute for Political Studies of Defense and Military History - Bucharest, Institute of Military History - Bratislava). The reviewers of the journal "Res Politicae" include more than a dozen academics from academic centers (outside of Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa). The journal's strengths lie in its internationally recognized Scientific Council, the list of reviewers, and thematic editors.

To date, 17 volumes have been published, covering the years 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. In 2012, we also published a special issue of "Res Politicae" devoted to the topic of "Municipal Government and its Elites."

The journal "Res Politicae" is currently included in the international CEEOL (open access) database, the Polish Scientific Research Institute (PBN), and the University's repository. We publish not only scientific articles; in keeping with the journal's tradition, we also publish editorial reviews, reports (e.g., from conferences or research), reports, and memoirs within the Varia. Students preparing their theses and doctoral candidates may also publish in our annual, after prior consultation and review by their supervisor. The journal "Res Politicae" has a long tradition, existing for 20 years, and despite its long history, it maintains the quality and interest of potential authors and the appreciation of reviewers for the quality of its published materials.

On December 1, 2021, the Minister of Education and Science published the latest Announcement regarding the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed proceedings from international conferences. "Res Politicae" was included on the list of journals with a score of 20.
