Abstrakt

In resocializing through art, the educator should first of all identify the juvenile’s interest in such a field of art which corresponds to his or her abilities and then help activate it. It is important that the development of artistic activity should take place in peer groups; this is an important factor in the resocialization of the juveniles who have discovered the possibility of expressing themselves through art. Such therapeutic influence of art reveals itself when the classes have an attractive form, i.e. the juveniles can work independently, while the educator acts as an adviser who helps them and respects their independence. Popular with young people, the hip-hop subculture is characterized by a wide range of artistic possibilities whereby it can not only broaden the offer of arts classes, but also make them more attractive. Therefore it should not be dismissed and treated as a negative subculture; instead its beneficial aspects (helping positively influence the juveniles) should be exposed and made use of.
