Challenges of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland based for the act on the defense of the homeland and membership in the North Atlantic Alliance

Abstract

The article, presents the role and tasks of the Polish Armed Forces in ensuring the security of the State, stressing that the formation of the security environment, in the state should be an overriding value, especially with regard to current threats. The paper presents information on the obligations and benefits of Poland’s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO), and also addresses, the current structure of the Polish Armed Forces, describing the most important command positions in the Polish Armed Forces and their main tasks.
