Abstract

The article presents sailing as a method of rehabilitation and re-socialization of disabled people. The object of interest and purpose of the considerations is mainly the impact of sailing on the human body, its impact on raising self-esteem and interpersonal relations of people with disabilities. Participants in the cruises were people with various disabilities, including those with impaired vision, impaired hearing, dysfunction of the motor apparatus, as well as mentally handicapped. In addition, the participants of the cruises were people from specific social groups: teenagers addicted to psychotropic drugs, from environmentally threatened communities, socially maladjusted, as well as children from orphanages. Analysis of source materials analysis, which constitute the basic information resource subject to the research process is used in the paper.
