Abstract

The most numerous units of the social economy are social cooperatives. Their functions are governed by the Law of 27 April 2006. The social cooperative is based on the principle of personal labor of its members and serves their needs. The study attempts to release the essence and role of the cooperative sector in the social economy in Poland.
