Compensating Measures Taken by Municipalities of Silesian Province in the Catastrophic Risk Management. The Results of Empirical Research

Abstract

Compensation of catastrophic damages taken by municipalities is based on the granting of social assistance to victims and on paying compensations for flood damages. Compensations paid from public funds don’t meet the needs of victims and therefore the need to build system solutions for insurance coverage, especially for catastrophic risks, is extremely important.
