Problems and opportunities of development in polish family businesses

Abstract

This paper presents criteria of differentiation of family businesses and stages in their development. Main problems which occur during succession of ownership and authority. The emphasis was on opportunities for successful transfer of business to younger generations without coming into conflicts in families and changes in legal regulations in Poland. This would allow for solving problems and open up development opportunities in family businesses. The results of the investigations carried out by NLU in order to present the profile of a family entrepreneur in Poland were also presented.
