Self evaluation of health of older people in Poland and some chosen European countries

Abstract

The paper presents some indicators used to describe self-rated functional health. Using the physical health data from SHARE 2004 the results of evaluation of severa! types of health expectancies were presehted (Life expectancy without physical functional limitations, Life expectancy without activity limitation - HLY, Life expectancy without instrumental activity restrictions - JADL, Life expectancy without self care activity restriction - ADL). These expectancies were also calculated - if possible - for older people in Poland in 2004 and some comparisons were conducted.
