Building Entrance Accessibility

Main entrance – stairs with handrails, for able-bodied persons and those with minor mobility impairments.

The entrance for persons with disabilities is located on the side of the building, 30m to the left of the main entrance. There is a cobblestone ramp with handrails. Aluminum doors with handles for opening. Wheelchair access is available. The side entrance is equipped with a Call-Hear assistance system.

Accessibility of Corridors, Stairs, and Elevators

The building has a platform for persons with disabilities from the ground floor to the 1st floor in segment B – direction to the left from the main entrance or from the driveway side, and an elevator in segment C – direction to the right from the main entrance, fully adapted for persons with mobility, hearing, and visual impairments, equipped with tactile information in Braille, control elements inside the cabin, and an external call button placed at the hand level of a person using a wheelchair. Elevator doors close and open automatically, equipped with a sensor that stops closing before physical contact with an object or person. Elevators are equipped with audio signaling informing about the cabin position. The elevator operates from the ground floor to the 7th floor.

It is possible to access rooms on individual floors with limitations on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors – these are passages from segment C to D, which makes some rooms inaccessible.

Disability Assistant support is possible after submitting a prior request to the Disability Support Office (BON).

Types of Adaptations Inside the Building

The facility has a toilet for persons with disabilities, equipped with a changing table and an electronic door opening mechanism. The porter's lodge, on the ground floor by the main entrance, is equipped with a portable induction loop.

An induction loop has been installed in the auditorium on the 1st floor to amplify the audio signal.

The building houses the University Support Centre - Disability Support Office – on the ground floor, direction to the right from the main entrance, behind the porter's lodge (room 29). Next to BON (room 30) there is a "Quiet Room", equipped with a couch, sofa, table, baby changing table, special lighting, and an electronic door opening mechanism. The room is intended for persons with disabilities, special health needs, employees, and persons with small children.

Parking Spaces for Persons with Disabilities and How to Use Them

There are parking spaces for persons with disabilities marked horizontally in blue by the building, with parking entry from Waszyngtona Street.

Access with an Assistance Dog

It is possible to enter the building with an assistance dog and a guide dog. A water bowl for assistance dogs is located in front of the BON entrance.

Sign Language Interpreter

Every Faculty, Library, and BON is equipped with a tablet with access to a sign language interpreter. In the Main University Building, there are tablets with access to a sign language interpreter (Faculty of Social Sciences, room 308, telephone: 34 3784297; Faculty of Art, room 611, telephone: 34 3784234; and Disability Support Office, room 29, telephone: 34 378 43 04, 451 160 704).

It is also possible to use a sign language interpreter through the University's main website on devices with internet access, camera, and microphone.

Evacuation

The building is equipped with a Fire Alarm System – continuous sound of the alarm siren and light signalizers; emergency lighting is used on evacuation routes; evacuation routes are free of obstacles, allowing persons with mobility and perception limitations to evacuate safely. Evacuation is led by the Building Administrator together with designated helpers (wearing bright yellow vests). During a fire, passenger elevators must not be used. A trial evacuation is conducted every year.

The buildings are equipped with evacuation chairs. In the building at Waszyngtona 4/8, there are 3 chairs: on the ground floor, 2nd floor, and 7th floor.

The main entrance is adapted for persons with disabilities, with a ramp for persons with disabilities using wheelchairs. The entrance is marked for persons with disabilities. Large aluminum doors with handles; well-lit.

The building is accessible to everyone and has two elevators, one with facilities for persons with disabilities, generally accessible to all rooms, and the other intended exclusively for persons with disabilities from the ground floor to the 1st floor – access to the auditorium and lecture halls.

Induction loops have been installed in the auditoriums to amplify voice.

On the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building, there are toilets for persons with disabilities, equipped with changing tables. A portable induction loop is located in the porter's lodge and in the Dean's Office in room 207.

In the underground part under the building, there are two parking spaces for persons with disabilities, and one generally accessible parking space outside along the building on the left side of the building entrance.

Częstochowa, Armii Krajowej 13/15

Building Entrance Accessibility

At the main entrance to the building from Armii Krajowej Avenue, on the right side, there is a ramp for persons with disabilities; at the building entrance from the B1 segment entrance (Planetarium), there is a ramp for persons with disabilities; due to the small difference in ground level in relation to the building entrance, the ramps have a low slope of up to 5%. The doors are aluminum with handles for opening. Wheelchair access is available.

Accessibility of Corridors, Stairs, and Elevators

The building in the main part of segment A is accessible only at the ground floor level; when passing to the corridor of the adjacent segment B, there are stairs equipped with handrails; from the B1 segment entrance (Planetarium), after passing the corridor in the direction of segment B, there is an elevator adapted for persons with disabilities. From segment B1 at the 2nd floor level to segments B and A via a connector, it is possible to access via an installed lift for persons with disabilities.

Some rooms are located at the basement level from Zbierskiego Street side, barrier-free entrance.

It is not possible to reach the gymnasium located on the ground floor in the left part of segment B – at half a floor level, there are stairs with handrails.

It is not possible to reach the Planetarium Hall and the observation terrace for astronomical observations.

An induction loop has been installed in the building auditorium to amplify voice.

In block B1, on the ground floor, there is a toilet for persons with disabilities, equipped with a changing table. A portable induction loop is located in room 8.

Parking Spaces for Persons with Disabilities and How to Use Them

By the building from the B1 segment entrance (Planetarium), there is a designated space for persons with disabilities, with entry from Armii Krajowej Avenue.

Due to the limitations of the land owned by the University, it was possible to provide only one space, but considering the direct proximity of other University buildings, it is possible to use parking spaces designated at those buildings – at the building at Zbierskiego 6 and Zbierskiego 2/4.

Building Entrance Accessibility

The main entrance to the building is at ground level, accessible without restrictions for everyone.

Accessibility of Corridors, Stairs, and Elevators

Accessibility for everyone via stairs and a platform from the ground floor to the high ground floor, and the possibility of wheelchair access to the library and reading room on the ground floor, through appropriately profiled corridors.

In the library part of the building, there is an elevator adapted for persons with disabilities.

For higher floors in the academic building, there is access for persons with disabilities – an external elevator adapted for persons with disabilities has been installed, which enables full access for everyone.

Additionally, a lift for persons with disabilities has been installed at the side entrance of the building, adapted for using the auditorium on the ground floor in the building with full accessibility, including an induction loop to amplify voice.

A permanent induction loop is also located in the passenger elevator.

Częstochowa, Dąbrowskiego 14

Building Entrance Accessibility

No possibility of entering the building for persons with disabilities; the main entrance to the building from the internal courtyard has stairs; it is possible to enter the building with the assistance of an assistant via the evacuation entrance/exit to the building from Dąbrowskiego Street – two steps to overcome, but only to the ground floor level. From the courtyard side, there are two more entrances to the ground floor level, but they are difficult to access.

The building is inaccessible for persons with disabilities; the building is on the list of monuments (external facade from Dąbrowskiego Street side), built in traditional technology, with narrow corridors, multi-level stairs; no elevator.

The entrance to the building is adapted for persons with disabilities, with a ramp with handrails, large aluminum doors with handles for opening. Wheelchair access is available.

Accessibility of Corridors, Stairs, and Elevators

It is possible to accommodate persons with disabilities on the ground floor level, where eight rooms with bathrooms have been prepared; there are elevators to higher floors, but not adapted for persons with disabilities – no possibility of wheelchair entry, due to technical limitations of the elevator shaft construction.
