Rector’s Office – Main University Building
 
Building Entrance Accessibility
 
Main entrance – stairs with handrails, accessible for able-bodied persons and persons with minor mobility impairments.
 
Entrance for persons with disabilities is located on the side of the building, approximately 30 metres to the left of the main entrance. There is a paved ramp with handrails. The entrance door is aluminium with a handle for opening. Wheelchair access is possible.
 
The side entrance is equipped with a Call-Hear assistance call system.
 
 
Accessibility of Corridors, Stairs and Elevators
 
The building has:
•a platform lift for persons with disabilities from the ground floor to the first floor in Segment B (to the left of the main entrance or from the ramp side),
•an elevator in Segment C (to the right of the main entrance) fully adapted for persons with mobility, hearing and visual impairments.
 
The elevator includes:
•tactile information in Braille,
•control elements inside the cabin and an external call button placed at wheelchair height,
•automatic doors with safety sensors preventing closing before contact with a person or object,
•sound signalling informing about the cabin position.
 
The elevator operates from the ground floor to the 7th floor.
 
Some rooms on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors are not fully accessible due to internal passage limitations between Segments C and D.
 
Support from a Disability Assistant is available after submitting an application to the Office for Persons with Disabilities (BON).

Internal Adaptations
 
The building includes:
•an accessible toilet equipped with a couch and an electronic door opening system,
•a portable induction loop at the reception desk (ground floor).
 
An induction loop is installed in the lecture hall on the first floor to amplify the audio signal.
 
The building also houses the University Support Centre – Office for Persons with Disabilities, located on the ground floor (Room 29).
 
Next to the office (Room 30) there is a Quiet Room, equipped with:
•a couch and sofa,
•a table,
•a baby changing station,
•special lighting,
•an electronic door opening system.
 
The room is intended for persons with disabilities, people with special health needs, staff members, and individuals with small children.
 
 
Parking Spaces
 
Designated parking spaces for persons with disabilities are located near the building. They are marked horizontally in blue. Access to the parking area is from Waszyngtona Street.
 
 
Assistance Dogs
 
Entry with assistance dogs and guide dogs is permitted.
 
A water bowl for assistance dogs is located near the entrance to the Office for Persons with Disabilities.
 
 
Sign Language Interpreter
 
Each faculty, the library, and the Office for Persons with Disabilities are equipped with a tablet providing access to a sign language interpreter.

It is also possible to access a sign language interpreter via the main university website using devices with internet access, a camera, and a microphone.
 
 
Evacuation
 
The building is equipped with a Fire Alarm System, including:
•continuous alarm siren sound,
•visual signalling devices,
•emergency lighting on evacuation routes.
 
Evacuation routes are free of obstacles and allow safe evacuation for persons with mobility or perception limitations.
 
Evacuation is coordinated by the building administrator with designated assistants wearing bright yellow vests.
 
Passenger elevators must not be used during a fire.
 
A fire evacuation drill is conducted annually.
 
The building is equipped with evacuation chairs located on:
•the ground floor,
•the 2nd floor,
•the 7th floor.
