Only very few women participated in organization structures of sport in Poland. In 1936 the International Women’s Sports Federation ceased to exist. The most popular sports disciplines practiced by women in Poland in the discussed period were gymnastics, sports games and athletics. Women also practiced other sports disciplines, among others, canoeing, archery, skating, skiing, swimming, tobogganing, fencing, tennis and rowing. Polish women were most successful in the international arena in athletics, archery and tennis. The best women in Polish sport included: Jadwiga Jędrzejowska, Janina Kurkowska-Spychajowa, Maria Kwaśniewska, Jadwiga Wajs and Stanisława Walasiewicz.</a></span></span></p> ER -
