Besides obtaining the right to vote in 1918, the fair sex actively participated in cultural, economic and political independent state. Sport was an example of the active participation of women, both professional and amateur. Women’s magazines, such as: “Bluszcz” [“Ivy”] and “Moja Przyjaciółka” [“My Friend”] had paid great attention to the importance of a good nutrition, a healthy lifestyle and physical activity. Newspapers published medical advice, newspaper articles or reports on sports events. Women, despite numerous difficulties and obstacles, achieved success on the national and international arena. They were involved in the most important sports events such as the Women’s World Games and the Summer Olympic Games.
